ISRC Request

What is ISRC?

How does ISRC work?

The ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) works by assigning a unique, permanent identifier to each individual recording or music track. This code is embedded into the recording’s metadata and follows it across all formats and platforms, including physical copies and digital distribution. The ISRC helps track and monitor plays, sales, and airplay, ensuring accurate royalty payments to rights holders. It is structured with 12 characters that provide information about the country, registrant, year, and specific recording, making it essential for music copyright management and reporting.

Where and how do I get ISRC?

You can get an ISRC by applying through a national ISRC agency, such as a music rights organization or a designated ISRC registrar in your country. In the Philippines, for example, the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) handles ISRC assignment. Once registered, you will receive an ISRC for each of your tracks. Some digital distributors and record labels also handle ISRC generation for artists as part of their distribution services.

ISRC cost in the Philippines?

PARI offer codes at a nominal fee or as part of membership services. You may get in touch directly for current rates.
